The People Of The 22nd Century

The Portraits in this project were taken from Instagram, using the tagging system to reflect and depict a diverse range of individuals as they might be seen in the 22st century. It is a contemporary take on the photographic work of August Sander, specifically his project "The People of the 20th Century." The use in photography as a means of documenting and representing different segments of society, to document and understand the human experience. Much like Sander's work, these portraits highlighting the ways in which people are shaped by the social and historical context of their time.
